How to delete a BrainVoyager License as prerequisite for a permanent license transfer or before switch to floating licensing model and BV-License server authorization
In order to send a new license key we request our customers to perform a License Deletion Procedure. This procedure is shortly described below:
Steps to be performed on the old system
- Start BrainVoyager on the old system
Open the License Dialog via the menu Help -> License Information
Press the 'Delete License' button, as displayed in the example below:
Please send the 'License Removal Report' confirmation e-mail together with the new license authorization request to licensing@brainvoyager.com
Alternatively, if no e-mail program is installed, please send a screenshot of the deleted License dialog of the old installation, as shown in the screenshot below. In this case the 'License key' field is empty, but the hardware ID from the old system is clearly visible.
Steps to be performed on the new system
- When you send the request for the new license key for your new system, please copy the new Hardware ID in text format (40 signs long) to the email, in case you do not use the automatically generated e-mail after clicking the 'Create E-mail' button. Please send this email to licensing@brainvoyager.com Please do not forget to add the 'License Name' information to the email!
After receiving the new license information from Brain Innovation, copy the renewed matching License Name-Key information out of the license authorization e-mail. Please first check if the hardware ID in the email matches the hardware ID presented in the license dialog, then copy and paste the 'License key' from the email to the license dialog using the 'From Clipboard' button and copy and paste the 'License Name':
Please note that we have used the same system again for this example (same hardware ID)!
Press the Activate button and check whether the new license information is correct:
- You can close the License Activation dialog and continue to work with BrainVoyager
