Plugins in BrainVoyager and where to find them

What are the major plugins within BrainVoyager? Where to find them within the installation?

Each BrainVoyager installation comes with a predefined set of plugins that are automatically installed when running the standard BrainVoyager installation.

The standard installation folder (for Windows) is:

C:\Users\[username]\Documents\BrainVoyager\Extensions\Plugins

Additional plugins can be obtained from the BrainVoyager website (please see link below).

When a user cannot find any plugins within the “Plugins” menu after the standard installation, there is usually a problem with the user account utilized for the installation based on the fact that Plugins (as well as Scripts) are stored within user specific folders.

To solve this problem, one has to copy the content of the “Plugins” folder created within the installing account and paste them into the corresponding folder of the new user account. Alternatively, the standard plugins and scripts can also be found on the BrainVoyager website:

The major plugins of the standard BrainVoyager installation are:

  • The Cluster-Level Statistical Thresholding GUI plugin,
  • The COPE plugin
  • The RFX Granger Causality Mapping (GCM)
  • The Independent Component Analysis (ICA)
  • The Psychophysiological Interaction (PPI)
  • The NIfTI converter (until BV22)

Specific Help/Documentation for the plugins can be found in the “Description of Plugins” entry of the Plugins menu.

Each user may also create his / her own plugins to add specific functionality to BrainVoyager. More details about the creation of plugins can be found in the BV Users Guide and BrainVoyager website.
